3Blades (3Jars, 3Blenders)

We have 3 blades, basically 2 of them are for the Alterna Jar, and the third is the pre-style that fits inside the old Omni Jar.

The Alterna Blades are dual-wing-tipped blades, very sharp, with a little blade fly thingy on top of it, which enhances the blending quality more than the size of these 2 knives might give away, just by looking at them. Anyway, one blade style is for the Blendtec style of blenders, and the other for the - Omni's - Waring, and all their private label - same of a kind knock-offs. The Alterna blades fit only in the Alterna Jar.... make a good note of that, please.

The OMNI Jar Blade:

Multi-Purpose WET / DRY - type Blade / Cutting Unit (fits on multiple type blenders) - with new advanced elongated horizontal knife

The OMNI blade assembly or unit is made from a special stainless steel, actually a custom-alloy made in Japan. The Japanese factories, as historically known, make a very high quality product. The assembly consists of the blades (6 knives),  and the shaft onto which the blades are bolted.

The shaft is connected to the bottom blade gear which connects to the drive socket when you place the jar with the blades installed onto your Omni blender. In between the gear and the blades runs the shaft through the ball bearing chamber. The ball bearing chamber is filled with steel balls and grease which is sealed off to keep the grease from leaking or in other words, the seal keeps water from entering the ball bearing chamber. (All-Purpose wet and/or dry ingredients blade assembly).

WARNING! THE BLADE IS VERY SHARP. NOW THAT WE WARNED YOU, YOU CAN'T SAY THAT WE DIDN'T TELL YOU THAT THE BLADE IS SHARP. YOU COULD CUT YOURSELF EASILY, IF NOT CAREFUL. BE CAREFUL! NEVER IMMERSE ANY ITEM OR THING YOU DO NOT INTEND TO BLEND UP. NEVER INSERT YOUR HAND/ARM INTO THE CONTAINER DURING OPERATING THE BLENDER. IT MAY CAUSE DISMEMBERMENT OR AT LEAST EXTREME SERIOUS INJURIES. KEEP CHILDREN ESPECIALLY AWAY FROM THE JAR AND BLENDER!

Explaining the Blades

Looking at the basic design of the blades, Alterna and Omni, they are they same kind, with the only difference that one does not fit in the other jar, well they fit, but the Alterna Blades have a longer shaft / gear (and 1 for Blendtec fit and the other for Omni - type and Vitamix-type or Waring type fit). Besides the knives, there is no difference.

DOUBLE CAUTION: The blade unit has 6 blades ( 2 downwards, 2 horizontal, and 2 upwards in about 45 degrees). The blades are extremely sharp, so sharp that anybody could potentially cut themselves with the blades just by touching them during washing and when servicing the blades.

Please do not insert your hand and/or any other body parts during the blending / operating process. Keep Children away from the Blender! And when and/or if you want to touch the blade(s) you are doing it at your own risk. Be careful not to cut yourself. - See Maintenance Video!

Why are the blades so sharp? We want to make certain that all blending and smoothie enthusiasts have a great experience blending and micronizing their smoothie ingredients.

The OMNI 6-Knives blade is a multi-purpose blade assembly. This means that you can blend in your blender jar anything from dry to wet ingredients. Therefore, the blender blade assembly is a wet and dry blade! And in addition to its rather competitive multi-purpose blending capability, the OMNI blade also can be installed into some of its competitor's jars/containers (however with some limitations). We can explain those limitations and compatibility/interchange-abilities on the phone at 801-623-3225801-623-3225. It is however definitely important for you to understand our disclaimers and disclosures.

When you operate your blender, because of the friction inside the ball bearings, the chamber could get quite hot. It takes about 5 to 6 minutes to reach 140 Degrees Fahrenheit.

In the ball bearings of the blade is where most of the heating takes place besides the friction created by the fast turning blades inside the smoothie ingredients. When the grease gets hot it liquefies. Only very seldom, -there is a very low rate of defects (less than 1%), the outer-seal (where the bottom gasket is) around the gear and shaft area on the bottom of the container (when you turn it upside down) can break.

When the seal breaks, the warmed up grease liquid will escape little by little. And little by little the blade assembly can seize up. This is something that you would notice right away if it happens. Luckily it does not happen a lot of times (as said before, less than 1% of the time). The Blade Warranty is for 1 year for residential use (3 months for commercial). Making a ZERO-Defect product is just not  feasible

OMNI BLADE VARIOUS COMPONENT PIECES

Do not take your Omni Blade assembly apart. You can damage the assembly and/or even cut yourself, attempting to do so. For warranty questions, see our Omni Blender Warranty section.

Increase Longevity

For cleaning, usage, and maintenance assistance, see the provided user manual on our website or watch the videos. Do not immerse the blade in water any time, other than during the blending operation. Serve your smoothie right away, empty the jar completely, and immediately rinse out. Do not let any remaining smoothie left over crust up. This will then require you to soak the jar, and ergo it will expose the blade bearing to excess water. Following these instructions will help increase the longevity of your blade operation.

CAUTION: THE BLADE IS SHARP, ACTUALLY VERY SHARP. NOW THAT WE WARNED YOU, YOU CAN'T SAY THAT WE DIDN'T TELL YOU THAT THE BLADE IS SHARP. YOU COULD CUT YOURSELF EASILY. BE CAREFUL!
